With the deployment of our cameras at railroad crossings, the safety of road users, train passengers and train staff is substantially increased. We measured a 70 to 80% decrease in illegal crossings after the start of enforcing the railroad crossing with our cameras. Our cameras use AI to detect both the red flashing lights and the position of the boom, whenever this is detected the camera knows that every entry on the railway crossing is now illegal and starts checking for any unauthorized entry to the railway crossing. Whenever an unauthorized entry is detected, an alarm will be send to the BackOffice. A monitoring agent can quickly assess to situation and act accordingly. If an immediate danger is apparent the monitoring agent can notify the train driver, therefore the chance of a (near) incident and thus the disruption of train traffic is decreased significantly.
